What is the difference between a narrative thread and a theme?

A theme is your event's outfit. A narrative thread is the storyline.

A theme determines how it looks: colours, décor, music. A narrative thread determines how the story is told: chronologically, as a journey, as question and answer, as chapters or as a transformation.

You can have a theme without a narrative thread. Then you have a fancy-dress party. You can have a narrative thread without a theme. Then you have a well-told story.
