Start with the venue's standard evacuation plan and adapt it for your specific event layout. Determine who gives the signal, who opens the emergency exits, where the assembly point is and who counts the guests. Make sure escape routes are clear and at least 1.10 metres wide. Brief every team member before the start. Ten minutes is enough. Take guests with disabilities into account: who helps them during an evacuation? Test whether the emergency lighting and smoke detectors work.
