How often should you organise an onboarding event?

As often as the new-hire intake demands, but at least once a quarter. New hires who have to wait more than six weeks for their onboarding event are already integrated or gone. Ideal timing is within the first two to four weeks after the start date.

Mid-sized organisations (100-500 staff) run this most effectively per quarter, in groups of 10-40 new starters. Large organisations with high intake move to monthly groups. The key: frequency should match intake speed, not the HR calendar.
