An event persona is a fictional but representative profile of a type of attendee. Not a real person, but a summary of real people with similar motivations, expectations and behaviour.
A good persona describes why someone would come and what he or she expects. Also which practical challenges play a role and how this person communicates. Instead of designing for an abstract group, you design for a recognisable person.
