Welcoming VIP guests well starts with preparation. Create a short profile for every VIP guest: name, role, relationship with the organisation and any particulars. Share it with the hosts who will be welcoming the guests.
Arrange a separate reception with a VIP lounge or an earlier check-in time. Place a personal host at the entrance and set up a reception area with good coffee or tea. Most important of all: make sure there is always someone present who engages the guest. A lounge without a host is a waiting room. A lounge with someone who knows the guest by name and knows who they are is a welcome experience.
