What is the difference between a theme and a concept for an anniversary?

A theme is a style choice (for example the 1920s, Marrakesh, circus). A concept is an idea that steers everything: what are you celebrating, why, and how does that feel?

You can stick a theme onto any party. A concept arises from the question 'what are you actually celebrating?'. It then determines the choice of venue, programme and possibly the theme too.
