Leeuwarden and Groningen are both northern cities, but they feel very different as event locations. Leeuwarden is more compact and more intimate. Ideal for events where authenticity and calm are central.
The historic town centre and cultural heritage (think of the Fries Museum and the Oldehove) give events a unique character. Groningen is bigger, younger and more energetic, with a wider range of venues for larger conferences. Leeuwarden works well for events of 50 to 250 people; Groningen scales up more easily to 500+.
