What is the difference between an activation and an event?

An event is a planned gathering. An activation is more specific: designed to make people do something. The difference lies in the intent: informative or social (event) vs. aimed at participation and behavioural change (activation).

A kick-off with an inspiring story is an event. That same kick-off where teams draw up action plans and voice their commitments is an activation.
