For a standing event or cocktail reception you calculate 0.5 to 0.8 m² net per person. At 0.5 m² it is busy but lively: ideal for a festive setting. At 0.8 m² there is more calm and room to move comfortably.
This is the net requirement per guest. Add the deductions to that: bar, cloakroom, entrance and technical production. Rule of thumb for the gross requirement: net × 1.5. A get-together for 150 people therefore requires at least 115 m² net and around 175 m² gross.
