Event insurance is not always legally required, but many venues and local councils require event liability insurance (AVE) as a condition for a permit.
For events with more than 100 visitors, an AVE is virtually standard. Cancellation insurance is never compulsory but strongly recommended for events with a budget above €10,000. Read more about the cost of event insurance.
