Communicate the start time actively and with context. In your invitation, mention not only the start time, but also when the doors open and what the first programme element is. "Doors open 5:30 p.m., programme starts sharp at 6 p.m." is more concrete than just "6 p.m." Send a reminder 48 hours before the event with practical information: parking, public transport, and what to expect on arrival. Guests who are well prepared arrive on time more often. Also build in an attractive pre-event programme: a reception with drinks and music gives guests a reason to come early.
