Which factors reduce the available space at an event venue?

The biggest space consumers vary. The stage or speaker area needs 4 to 60 m², and the bar and catering setup 10 to 30 m². The DJ booth or technical area takes up 4 to 20 m², and the cloakroom and entrance area 10 to 25 m². On top of that, mandatory escape routes come into play, with walkways at least 1.2 m wide, and the production setup for lighting and sound.

Add it all together and 35 to 40% of the gross floor area goes on non-guest area. In a 500 m² hall, you effectively keep 300 to 325 m² for your guests.
