Should I state the budget in a pitch document for an event agency?

Yes. Leaving out the budget is the most common mistake in an event brief. Agencies that don't know the budget present proposals that miss the mark — too big, too small or with the wrong focus. Give a range. Example: "We work with a budget of €50,000 to €75,000 excluding VAT." That's concrete enough for a relevant proposal, but gives the agency room to make choices. The fear that the agency will always max it out is understandable but unfounded. A good agency presents a proposal that fits within the frame and advises transparently.
